Description

Complete automated sanitary packaging system consisting of a stainless steel Z-frame product elevator, Ishida 14-head combination weigher, CEIA drop-through metal detector, and Bosch SVE 3800 ULI/NEMA vertical form fill seal (VFFS) bagger. Product is elevated by an approximately 24" wide x 20' long Z-frame conveyor equipped with a food-grade belt featuring 2" high molded cleats and an approximately 48" horizontal discharge section. The conveyor feeds an Ishida Model CW-M-214W N-S30-W 14-head combination weigher with dimpled stainless steel product contact surfaces, center distribution cone, radial feed pans, weigh buckets, and sanitary discharge chute for high-speed, accurate weighing. Product then passes through a CEIA Model THS/GMS21-200 drop-through metal detector with a 6" diameter product aperture and digital control interface before entering the Bosch Model SVE 3800 ULI/NEMA vertical form fill seal bagger. Manufactured in 2020, the Bosch bagger features stainless steel sanitary construction, Ishida scale interface, touchscreen operator controls, stainless steel NEMA washdown electrical enclosure, pneumatic sealing system, and full safety guarding. This integrated system is designed for continuous automated conveying, weighing, metal detection, and bagging of snack foods, frozen vegetables, fresh produce, confectionery, nuts, coffee, pet food, and other free-flowing products.

General Information

Integrated combination weighing and VFFS packaging systems are widely used throughout the food industry to automate product handling while maintaining high weighing accuracy and food safety. Product is gently elevated to the multihead weigher, where advanced weighing algorithms determine the optimum combination of weigh buckets to achieve the target package weight. The weighed product then passes through an inline metal detector for contaminant inspection before entering the vertical form fill seal machine, which forms bags from roll stock film, fills, seals, and discharges finished packages. These complete systems are commonly used for snack foods, frozen vegetables, fresh produce, confectionery, nuts, coffee, cereals, pet food, pasta, and other free-flowing products requiring high-speed automated packaging.
